My design process

Curiosity is my step zero. It’s what fuels my questions and motivates me to keep learning. I prefer designing end-to-end and taking concept to production. Before I hit the drawing board, I want to understand the WHY; what is the problem(s), who are we designing for, and what is the data behind it?

Sadly, I’m no superwomen–I can’t design on my own. But this allows me to collaborate with key stakeholders, Product Managers, Researchers, Accessibility and other Designers to truly understand the user and problem at hand. Typically, this looks like facilitating design workshops to level set on the problem and goals, create product requirements, view user stories, and create road maps.

As I move forward and get my grounding in research, this enables my creativity and strategy to flow forward. I map out my design strategy, participate in creative design reviews, and continue to iterate and test to ensure the best solution for the customers.

As I wrap up designs, I like to write the specific scenarios, annotate interactions, and include accessibility notes to ensure a smooth handoff and product launch. While products are in production, I measure success and outcomes through analytics.
